Greetings from Siskiyou Land Trust!

As summer wraps up, the Siskiyou Land Trust Board and staff are grateful for the bounty and promise that we’ve cultivated. We are also mindful of the challenges many in our region face due to wildfires. From all of us at Siskiyou Land Trust, deepest gratitude to neighbors, partners, and the multi-agency efforts to protect forest homes and entire communities. SLT and forest conservation landowner partner, EFM experienced our first major loss from wildfire. We have much to learn and share as we move forward.
As SLT reflects on this summer’s events, accomplishments, and happenings, we invite you to take a moment to explore the newsletter and join us at upcoming events. We hope you appreciate how SLT is bringing our collective vision of community conservation forward. Through the newsletter and our events, get to know SLT’s Board, staff, volunteers, and supporters. Mark your calendars and join in the fun with upcoming events to celebrate, meet, learn, and volunteer with the Land Trust community. Come discover the many opportunities to connect and be involved with protecting and caring for our outdoor spaces.

Siskiyou Land Trust is here because 30-years ago, the local community decided it needed a local organization to identify and protect lands that matter to our communities here in Siskiyou County. Since that time, SLT has been able to leverage its locally rooted vision through individual donations and grant funds to protect and care for the lands and places we love. Since this organization took the leap to hire staff, our capacity to fulfill the mission of land conservation in a 4 million acre county grew exponentially.  Since 2010, the Land Trust went from a conserved land base of 114-acres to 42,000-acres today.  Your support, vision, and encouragement has made this progress possible.

Thank you for making a positive impact in the world and for letting Siskiyou Land Trust be the way you cultivate a vibrant future for our Earth. Your continued support is what makes the Land Trust go! Over the years people have given in creative and generous ways that include everything from donating pizzas for volunteer days, to donating time and materials for stewardship projects, and even an entire estate for land conservation. Whether you support SLT through financial contributions, volunteering your time, or connecting us with new conservation partners and lands to be conserved, the way you give matters and allows the Land Trust to do the work. If the Land Trust work sparks your interest and passion, give where you live, love, and visit. Cheers✨
