Twenty years ago, Eric and Kathie Matthews created four amazingly beautiful serigraph prints celebrating Mount Shasta..one each year from 1995 thru 1998. The images are technically perfect, created by hand-printing dozens of different ink layers in perfect alignment for each original print. SCROLL BELOW TO VIEW THE PROCESS! These are indeed treasures of Mount Shasta art and have become part of our community’s history.
We are therefore delighted to announce that the complete set of four original prints, each the first numbered print of the limited edition, was donated to Siskiyou Land Trust by Jacquie Parker and auctioned at the 2014 Harvest Celebration dinner on Saturday Nov 8th. The final sale price of $1100 for the set was fabulous, and the money will be used to help fund SLT activities and projects through the coming year.
Rick and Kathie Matthews were present at the Harvest Celebration to share the story of creating these lovely prints. Interested folks should know that they do still have original prints from this series available for sale. Sets of greeting cards too. If you would like to purchase one of these lovely serigraphs, please contact Rick directly at rkm@snowcrest.net.

Eric has provided a series of photos showing the progression of layering the inks on the Darlingtonia serigraph. From the first green and sky blue layers, through the grey, tan and lavendar of the mountain, to the vibrant lime and red of the flowers…the silkscreen process is technically exacting. Truly this set of first numbered prints is a treasure!
