Seed saving and medicinal roots: A meditative walk hosted by Bear Wallow Herbs.
The Siskiyou Land Trust and Cara Saunders of Bear Wallow Herbs invite you to experience Sisson Meadow in autumn with an eye toward plants at the end of the season. Cara, owner of Bear Wallow Herbs, will lead a meditative walk to connect with local plants that are medicine for our community. Observe herbs in different stages of their lifecycle. Take another look at herbs that were flowering in summer and are now drying out and making seeds. We will collect herb seeds to help them disperse and thrive. We will offer gratitude to the plants that fill our medicine cabinet and open our hearts to learn directly from the plants that heal us. The careful work of digging fall roots and preparing them for medicine will be demonstrated, so come dressed in boots and bring work gloves to participate fully in this hands-on workshop.
The walk will be from 1-4pm on Sunday, Oct. 14. Meet at the Mt. Shasta Library picnic tables at 1pm.
Workshop cost: $12. Register at the Bear Wallow Herbs booth at the Mt. Shasta Farmers’ Market on Mondays 3:30-6pm. Or Contact Cara Saunders: cara@bearwallowherbs.com or (530)925-5829 for more information about the workshop. Click here to view the event announcement on Facebook.
If you decide last minute, you are still welcome to join us!
