This year, Stewardship Manager, Laura Bradley led over thirty nature walks and talks with numerous other experts to explore the world of botany, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, stargazing and native plant propagation. SLT was thrilled to welcome more than 350 participants on these learning adventures, where community and nature intertwine!

Each walk was not only an exploration of the breathtaking beauty of Siskiyou County, it was also a chance to deepen connections with our land trust supporters and to share our mutual love of this place we are so lucky to call home. Nature walks were led by experts in their field who so generously volunteered to share their knowledge so that event participants were able to learn something new. These walks shared the vital role that pollinators, birds, native plants, mushrooms, and so many other species play in maintaining a diverse and healthy ecosystem. Not only did we learn a ton but one of the most heartwarming aspects of these walks was the new friendships that were formed amongst staff, board and community members.

Your time and contributions make these experiences possible, and every dollar you donate helps us to protect the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that define our home. Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovery and stewardship and helping us to ensure that Siskiyou County remains a healthy, vibrant community for wildlife and people for generations to come!

Meet SLT Stewardship Manager, Laura Bradley

Laura spends many days monitoring our conservation easements and leading trips for our Nature Walk series. As an ornithologist and wildlife biologist, she guides various nature and birding walks across Siskiyou County and coordinates with experts who lead insect, botanical, and ecology hikes on SLT properties. When she is not in the field, Laura is active with report writing, organizing upcoming nature walks, and preparing for future fieldwork.
