This year, Stewardship Manager, Laura Bradley led over thirty nature walks and talks with numerous other experts to explore the world of botany, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, stargazing and native plant propagation. SLT was thrilled to welcome more than 350 participants on these learning adventures, where community and nature intertwine!

Each walk was not only an exploration of the breathtaking beauty of Siskiyou County, it was also a chance to deepen connections with our land trust supporters and to share our mutual love of this place we are so lucky to call home. Nature walks were led by experts in their field who so generously volunteered to share their knowledge so that event participants were able to learn something new. These walks shared the vital role that pollinators, birds, native plants, mushrooms, and so many other species play in maintaining a diverse and healthy ecosystem. Not only did we learn a ton but one of the most heartwarming aspects of these walks was the new friendships that were formed amongst staff, board and community members.

Your time and contributions make these experiences possible, and every dollar you donate helps us to protect the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that define our home. Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovery and stewardship and helping us to ensure that Siskiyou County remains a healthy, vibrant community for wildlife and people for generations to come!

Share your nature walk photos with Siskiyou Land Trust! We look forward to hearing from you at admin@siskiyoulandtrust.org!

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Dark Sky event in late January. There were about 50 diehard stargazers who showed up to brave the cold! It was freezing but so beautiful. Our amazing dark sky tour guide, Barbara Paulson, regaled us with star stories and pointed out all of the winter constellations as well as Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter! Visit our events calendar and stay tuned for a Dark Sky event this spring.
