THIS EVENT POSTPONED. TO BE RESCHEDULED WHEN POSSIBLE. The March 12 Siskiyou Land Trust slideshow will feature a wintertime tour of Russia through the camera lens of local adventurer Danielle Williams. The program will be preceded by an open house gathering led by Shasta Trinity National Forest. Both events are at the Mt. Shasta Museum. Come at 5:00 to learn about USFS projects then stay to enjoy a beautiful SLT slideshow. The open house starts at 5:00pm, then at 6:30 activity moves to the slideshow program which begins at 7:00pm.
“Of Night and of Light and the Half Light” features Williams’ travels through the winter landscape of northwestern Russia. Her photos range from the city of St. Petersburg northward to the icy port of Murmansk. “I’ve been to Russia many times,” Williams explains, “and as a ‘winter’ person, I love traveling above the arctic circle where sun skirts across the horizon for only a few hours a day. My slideshow aims to create a little window into the wintry expanses of northwestern Russia.”
Come join us on Thursday, March 12th for an evening of amazing winter light from across the globe, along with a lively community discussion about current and future projects in our own national forests. Come at 5:00 for news about trail building, forest fuels and vegetation treatments, and USFS land acquisition. Or come at 6:30 for the 7:00 slideshow program. Or both… it’s an evening not to be missed.
The Siskiyou Land Trust is proud to co-host this combined event. The slideshow series is a regular fundraiser for Siskiyou Land Trust, with a donation requested for that program.
