SLT and the Shasta Valley RCD present an evening’s discussion on the impact on out local forest management of the Northern Spotted Owl’s listing as a threatened species. The workshop begins at 6pm on Wednesday, June 18 at the Sisson Museum in Mt. Shasta.
Ever since the Northern Spotted Owl was declared threatened under the Endangered Species Act, the way we view and manage forests has been turned upside-down. Come learn the reasons for the regulations, their economic and environmental impacts and benefits, followed by a discussion on the future of the owl and forestry in Siskiyou County.
