Spring Greetings from Siskiyou Land Trust!

Watching a golden eagle feast on a Coho salmon that returned home to spawn in the East Fork Scott River was a powerful reminder of resilience. As spring unfolds, bringing renewal and change, we at Siskiyou Land Trust are reflecting on our community’s strength, our progress, and the adaptability needed to navigate uncertain times ahead.

Federal uncertainty in February led to a pause in all federally funded grants, but SLT has responded with pragmatism and resolve. As policies shift, our commitment remains strong—to protect land and water, deepen community and tribal connections, and build resilience. In this newsletter, you’ll find updates on affected and unaffected projects, SLT’s responses, community resources, and ways to support vital programs and partnerships.

Thank you for supporting Siskiyou Land Trust! Your care and commitment drive meaningful conservation forward. Together, we are a powerful force for good—unstoppable in our shared mission.

Warmly,

Kathleen Hitt
Executive Director
