Join the Siskiyou Land Trust and Mt. Shasta Area Audubon Society for a joint birding trip to Butte Valley Wildlife Area and Meiss Lake, near Macdoel, CA. Trip leader Gretchen Framel and assistant leaders Steve Huckabone and Laura Bradley will be your guides. Prepare to be amazed by the abundance and diversity of shorebirds, ducks, geese, sparrows, warblers, hawks, eagles, falcons and owls we will see at this time of year! Carpools will be formed in either Mt. Shasta or at the Grass Lake Rest Area. More details regarding logistics and carpools will be sent via email prior to the trip.

A CDFW Lands Pass, California Fishing or Hunting license must be in possession of anyone 16 years of age or older while visiting Butte Valley Wildlife Area. Lands Passes may be purchased online(opens in new tab), by phone at (800) 565-1458, or in-person at locations wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold. A day pass is $5.66 or an annual pass costs $32.66. Both daily and annual lands passes are valid for entry on any lands pass property.
