SLT is delighted to present a rare opportunity to run the Upper Sac in warm spring weather at a nice high flow.
Upper Sacramento River Rafting Day
Friday April 28th
The Upper Sacramento offers some of the best class III+ rafting in far northern California. The pace is fast and there are rapids around every bend. The river dances through a steep, lush canyon with cascading side streams. This year’s epic snowpack means the Upper Sac is running at a beautiful, fun level right now and the weather forecast is for a beautiful day.
We’ll raft from Sims (about 20 miles south of the town of Mt. Shasta on Interstate 5). It will still be a full day event meeting at Sims Road river crossing (Click for a google map) at 9:00 AM. Warm synthetic layered clothing and a paddle jacket is recommended. Bring your own lunch in an uncrushable plastic container. We will supply PFD’s and the rafting equipment for paddling the 14 mile stretch of class III+ whitewater (with experienced volunteer guides donating their time and rafting gear).
We’re requesting a $100 per person donation to SLT (feel free to donate more if you wish…it all goes to SLT to support our work in land conservation). Adults and older teens only…call Steve at 859-2884 if you have questions.
Click here to reserve your space.
We’ll see you Friday for a fabulous fun river experience!
And watch on May 1st to sign up for our annual Thompson Creek Rafting Day on the Klamath River, which is scheduled for June 2nd – a much gentler and equally epic day of rafting with SLT.
