Staff Welcomes!

Welcome, Emily! Emily Williamson joined Siskiyou Land Trust mid-March to fill in for Conservation Coordinator, Hannah Link while on maternity leave (read below for baby updates!). She quickly jumped in to hold the reins and is already such a vital asset to coordinating SLT’s Friends of the Sisson Meadow and Wherrit Forest Neighborhood Stewards groups! Emily is excited to join the Siskiyou Land Trust after leaving Montana and moving back to the area. As Scott Valley is her favorite place in this big, beautiful world, she is thrilled to be working to protect the local ranches and wild landscapes that make far northern California so magical. Emily lives on a property with an SLT conservation easement and is always happy to chat about what that looks like day to day.  She is always looking to connect with landowners and volunteers that share her mission of stewarding the land and rivers she holds so dearly.

Welcome, Seth! Seth Bleazard volunteered for SLT through Mt. Shasta High School’s Sustainability Club. He is now attending BYU and joins Siskiyou Land Trust as a Summer Intern Steward. You’re likely to find Seth working in Sisson Meadow, say hello if you do! He will also be providing support for other stewardship and CE monitoring activities.

Baby News!

SLT Conservation Coordinator, Hannah Link and husband, Dan brought baby Hyatt into the world in February! Hannah is doing well and they are loving introducing Hyatt to mountain living! Hannah will return to work in upcoming weeks.

Staff Farewell

Conservation Project Manager, Ed Stanton moved to work for Ducks Unlimited in Sacramento. His last day with SLT was January 31. We are thankful for all Ed’s work and accomplishments while working with SLT. While on staff, Ed helped secure grant funding for key SLT projects and was instrumental in the acquisition of LuginBuhl Ranch Preserve. We are glad to be distant partners in conservation!

Coming soon…!

With a full slate of acquisition and stewardship projects underway, we interviewed candidates to fill the open Conservation Project Manager position and a new part-time Administrative Assistant position. We look forward to introducing two new staff members soon!
