Dear Friends of the Siskiyou Land Trust,
I am filled with gratitude for the incredible community that makes the Siskiyou Land Trust possible. Together, we have accomplished so much – strengthening our bonds, protecting our cherished landscapes, and fostering a shared vision for a more sustainable future. Thank you for being a part of Siskiyou Land Trust. Our collective dedication to preserving the natural beauty and ecological health of this biodiverse region makes a difference. Our work together is what brings us all closer to one another and to the land we love.
I invite each of you to take a look at the enclosed annual report. Celebrate our collective successes. Land Trusts by their nature are places of common ground rooted in the love and stewardship of nature and inclusive community. May this report be just what you need to feel inspired and prompted to take action to support all the good work happening by and through Siskiyou Land Trust. Important work lies ahead. We can do this together!
One of the most profound moments in Land Trust history occurred this year – the recent protection of the place that served as the seed from which this land trust and its relationships to people and place grew more than thirty years ago, LuginBuhl Ranch. This headwaters forest is not just a piece of property – it is a living legacy of landowners, the foundation of a movement, a place where our shared commitment to a local voice for conservation first took root. Today, its towering old growth trees stand as a testament to the power of individuals taking action to leave something greater than themselves for the Earth and for community. When this kind of action is supported by contributions from community, we are an unstoppable force for the good of life on Earth.
Thank you for the many ways you contribute. Together we are generating joy through protecting landscapes, cultivating a lasting legacy of stewardship, and caring for future generations.
In gratitude,
Kathleen Hitt
